Akimi is licensed as a Professional Counselor Associate in Kentucky. She finished her counselor education at Lindsey Wilson College. Before transitioning to Human Services Field, she had a career of 20 years in the Automotive Industry. She was raised in Japan as a third-generation Korean and relocated to South Central Kentucky in her late 20s. She provides culturally sensitive approaches to clients’ challenges with diversity in mind.

Akimi has assisted populations of all ages with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, attention deficit, women's issues, mixed family issues, geriatric, and substance use disorders. Palliative and bereavement care is another theme in her profession, as she has experienced personal losses in recent years. Diverse relationships, LGBTQIA, immigration stress, and parenting issues are also of her passion.
